Jo Montgomerie is a freelance Sound Designer, musician & teacher based in the UK.

 

Jo has experience in several different areas, and her interests include sonic art, soundscapes, mixing, foley work and everything from traditional to electroacoustic performance. From a young age Jo showed promise as a performer taking lessons on both piano and flute. Throughout school and university Jo has studied many different areas of sound and music, from traditional composition and acoustics, to creative sound design and soundscapes (a full list of qualifications and training Jo has can be found under Experience). 

 

Having gained a BMus (Hons) in Music Technology from the University of Edinburgh (2007) Jo went on to complete a Masters degree in Sound Design at Leeds Metropolitan University (2009). Currently based in the Leeds area Jo works freelance as a Sound Designer, teaches privately, and enjoys getting involved in as many different projects as possible in any capacity.
